Drab to FAB !!!!!

I altered this box for the Vintage Box swap on the CMB. It's for my sis, Diane. ENJOY it sweetie. I used a paper mache' box inked the edges in Chestnut roan chalk in. The add smooth black cardstock under the October Afternoon's Thrift shop designer paper. Love it...looks very antique-y!!!! I then add black cardstock to the lid..with an old postcard...inked the edges. I had some small printed Designer paper in a black/white added it for a pop of patterns. Add a large prinma in dk brown...a handmade flower..THANK YOU SKRAPPINDIVA...but add a pinecone glimmer mist to it to give it the worn/aged vibe. The cream crocheted flower is a vintage look too...I made it and added the pearl to the center. The black gemed trim is from Jo Ann's..and very vintage. THe flower of pearls was a button...added the black prima gems flourishes and the handmade stick pin. THe knob is from Tim Holts collection.  I love how it looks..and hope that Diane is just as pleased.

My cup runth over

So I've been creating even more. I soo LOVE being off work...lol!!! I have made a pincushion. It's created from a cup and saucer I bought at a thrift store. It's china...and gorgeous. You just never know what goodies are just waiting to be found at a thrift shop!!!! I did this one for a friend on the CMB...Tiffany...her room is in the colors red/black/white. SO I hunted until I found a black/white cup and saucer. I DID!!!!! The doily on the top is an antique..from another thrift store...and I glimmer mist'd it with Brick. It's a pretty deep dark muted red. The large  handmade flower was from a friend..THANK YOU Skrappindiva! I glimmer'd some with mists and added them to the saucer. I used a wide crocheted ribbon and made it into a bow...added it with the flowers. The butterfly is lace..I actually sewed it on the stick pin to make it look like it's flying. Added buttons in the colors of her room and a string of pearls for the girlie feel. Topped it off with some handmade stick pins and it's ready to send to North Carolina. ENJOY Miss Tif.  I am sooo PROUD of this one..it's the first one I've altered/created and will be proud to send it to her.

Stuck in a Rut Jar

This is the inspiration jar I made for a swap on the CMB. My partner is Jen...we've been partners on several swaps and always love the work she does for me as well as what I make to send her. I altered this small jar for her...in her..OUR ..favorite color combo...PINK/CREAM/BROWN. It turned out soo cute. I had no idea at first..but then the creativity just came to me and this is what I came up with.  I handmade the PINK pipecleaner flower...and add the large gem brad to the center. The small white ones were primas...dusted w/sand glimmer mist. The heart is from MM and pink pearl flourishes by Prima.  The lace butterfly was a RAK sent to me..and it came in ohh-sooo handy. I added teeny-tiny pearls down the middle of it. THe paper is from SEI Grandma's Kitchen???...The crocheted lace on the top...I threaded a pretty pink satin ribbon thru it..and lef the one on the bottom open. Added detail!  The top of the lid..I cut a circle from pink paper..??? ...and glued it down...sanded the edges and added a dk brown ribbon around it. The large pink  flower was from SKrappindiva...THANKS Kathy Jo...and I crocheted the chocolate brown with pink center. For the inspiration~~~~ we had to write ideas down on paper for our sister when her MOJO is runing low.... It turned out way better than I had imagined. ENJOY IT Jen....it's on the way....

WHAT A SIGN!!!!!

I wanted to share a photo of a gorgeous sign ScrappingInWonderland made for me on the CMB...Hanging Sign Swap. ISn't it beautiful!!!! I'm in ♥ with it...soo perfect in color...design and details. Fabulous job, Tracy. I couldn't have asked for more. I will cherish this and enjoy it being a wonderful addition to my scraproom. THANK YOU sooo much...for my lovely creation.

Mini Can

Well I have finished my MINI paint can for a CMB swap. It is just toooo adorable!!! My partner loves red and black...and I hope this can will be  loved as well. Not sure of the papers I used..some from my scraps...but the perfect amount. I added two of my hand-crocheted flowers..a black and a cream. I then misted the cream flower with a Brick and Black Velvet spritz. Added pearls to the centers. I  used flourished clear gems and a metal word ♥LOVE♥. I used 3 mini primas I spritzed with the Brick mist and a pearl flourish with a flower on the lid. I barely misted the mini pompom ribbon around the can. I also made the dangle/charm on the handle. It is just too cute...I am proud of it and happy to send it off to Scrappychick.

Floral Notebook

I altered this Comp book for the same swap as the mini evie posted earlier. I hope she enjoys it as much. I covered it in a pink and a floral brown paper...added a light blue ribbon from the colors of the flowers. I then added HM flowers a friend had sent to me..THANKS Skrappindiva...added some gem flourishes and a Stick pin...and crocheted lace. It's definately a girlie book. She can use it for anything she desires.

You've Got Mail

This is an item I altered for a 6 WK SS swap on the CMB. We had 2 words for 6 weeks we had to create or purchase an item for our take on the word. HERE is mine...It started off as a plain metal envie and I used Ranger Alcohol inks in Pebble..Latte..& Caramel with the copper additive. I loved the **AGED** look of it. Then I added some glimmer misted crocheted ribbon, mini prima flowers and some gem flourishes. Then randomly placed a few pearls. Added a Tim Holtz mini paper clip and one of his Adage tickets. It too was aged with glimmer mist and crinkled to get the worn look. I  hope my SS enjoys it. I love how it turned out. I then made an ATC card to place inside

FRILLY and Sooo ME

Hello to all...

I rec'vd this beautiful can from one of my sisters on the CMB Just For YOU Can swap. SweetCreations was my Sis...THANK YOU TONS, Sweets. I loved it..and all the goodies inside.

THis is the the handle of the can. ISN'T it just too cute???????? I love how she used the tuelle on it. Love my can!!!    Inside was filled with lots of nice things too.

Last day of April

Ohh my...where as the time gone? It's the end of April already...been a rainy April as well. We have had massive amounts...creeks overflowing..and standing water everywhere. I do hope May is a sunnier and warmer month! I know they say *April showers bring May flowers* but really....do we need soooo many showers???????!!! :) It has helped our yard turn from a nasty brown to a lush green and growing lawn. DH isn't soo grand about that...he does the mowing...lol! I can't wait to see what May has in store for us all...

A Lil' Country Journal

This is a notebook I altered for the same lady as the frame. I love the look...soo pretty and dainty. I used DWV Linen Closet patterned paper for this book. It has some yummmy papers in it. I added ribbon in a dk brown and then added a handmade flower to it. It's a nice touch to it after using the mini printed flower paper. Then I made a brown stick pin and placed it in the flower

Free as a Bird

TO be FREE as a bird....Wouldn't it be cool to fly like them? To go where and when you wish...I did an altered frame with a bird theme to it...and the word **SOAR** ...to me it means freedom. ENjoy life and explore everything at new heights. It was for a Sister on the CMB ..we had a 4 days of Easter swap...this is one of her Handmade items.

Recipe~~~

I used a 5x7 photo frame. I sandpapered it and then painted it with Picket Fences Crackle paint by Tim Holts...then added Riptide Glimmer mist to it before using the heat gun to make the paint crackle. I love the affect of how it turned out. then inked the inside of the frame with a carribean blue glimmer mist. I used the Lacey Labels Cricut cart to cut the words out in black vynol. Adhered it to the glass and smoothed it out. Tooo pretty!

Antique -themed Can

Hello to all...

I altered this can for a sister on the CMB. Sweets..I hope you enjoy it. I love how it turned out...didn't need alot of XTRAS as the papers were gorgeous and had a slight busy pattern to them. No need to cover it up. Which is paper from  Ancestrial Key Stripe and dots and swirls by TPC Studios.  I just added a variety of ribbons to the handle, a paper ribbon in muted browns  and some antique keys and a handmade dangle on the side. PERFECTO!!!!! :) She loves the color teal..and this is just that...but more of a toned-down teal with browns/creams/coppers. LOVE THAT PAPER! I also filled the inside with tons of goodies...from ink pads by Tim Holtz and metals...to prima flowers, pearls,glue dots and atg refills and copic markers. What a great selection of goodies. Handmade Glimmer mist

I love this stuff and to have enough...NEVER...then to learn to make your own in even new shades...WOW!
Here is the RECIPE to try to make it yourself....enjoy

Supply List Needed

1. Mini misters

2. Pefect pearls or Pearl ex

3. Colored inks in the dropper bottles (I use the refills for regular inkpads) Not DISTRESSS OR Alcohol inks.

Last but not least Water!!

Step 1:  Put your pefect pearls in the bottom of your mini mister (any color) I tend to put more then normal because I like mine really glimmery but you can always add more if it is not glimmery enough for you.

Step 2: Add the color ink you would like (this will be the color of the mist itself) I normally add about 15 drops in the mini misters I use from the ebay seller above. Your best bet is to add some try it and if you would like a darker color just add more ink.

Step 3: Add water to your mister. I would say leave a space from the top incase you want to add more perfect pearls or ink.

Step 4: Close the bottle, Shake it up and ENJOY!!!

Like I said you can always add more ink and pearls to add more of a shine or make the pigment stronger.

I wanted to share some of my wonderful goodies I've rec'vd from CMB sisters in the Birthday CLub. I've truely enjoyed all of them thus far. I know that there are three that I've not rec'vd and once I do..I'll add those photos as well. THEN the box they all pitched in to send.

 

Missy sent this gorgeous altered notebook. I LOVE it...the dangle is adorable as well. She did an amazing job on it. Will be of great use too.Thanks Miss.

 

Sue sent me a cute lil' HM coin purse. I'm going to sue it for work. Has several areas for a time card, money and whatever I may need. THANK YOU...it will be used alot.

 

Sandy sent me the cutest lil' photo frame in PINKS..of  coarse! I'm going to add my babies photos to it and place it in my scraproom. Thanks sweetie.

 

J-bear had sent me the most beutiful altered art work framed. It was my name. It was damanged in shipping..but I can fix it and it will be just as nice as before ...I hope..and proudly displayed in my room. LOVE it..thanks Jamie.

Work In Progress

I've been working on a few things. I've enjoyed how they have turned out as well. They are all swaps I've joined.
The Green clovers are for the YPP stick it up swap. I love how they look.

Recipe-Green bazzill crdstk I cut at 3.5 on my Cricut. Then on with a dker green at 1.5 . I inked the edge with a dk brown. Stamped in dk brown..LUCKY. Made the stick pins with a variety of green beads.

 This is a Dangle for the Charm/Dangle swap on the CMB. It was a FREE Choice theme. I used Girlie Girl. Lots of pink..and flowers. It's really *charming.*  :)


RECIPE~Tim Holtz swivel clasp and jump rings. A nice variety of beads from Wal-Mart and M's.

THis is for the swap on the CMB too. But it was a Vintage theme. I love the colors of the metals I used on it . Lots of browns..creams..and blacks. Can 4 Copics

Hello to all

This can is a tall lunch tin I altered for a swap on the CMB. It's going to _____in Florida. I know she will enjoy it..she asked for it in one of the Mandatory HM items category. I really am pleased with how it came together.

Recipe~~Maya Road tin..covered in DCWV Solid cardstock in a dk teal and a stripe teal and cream with a hint of glitter. Ribbons are from my stash. Bling flourish is by Prima and the flowers ...are from stash. I glimmer mist'd the two darker teal flowers..one with a dragonfly and the other with cool carribean. I inked the edges of the other two white flowers with  SU cool carribean. Then added pearls and PRima centers to them. I also made the heart stick pin in teal colors. The word **Copics** is from BG chipboard letters. I inked them in the SU cool carribean and then used Ranger paint dabber in Pearl on top of it. Heat set it. I'm soo pleased with my creations.

Another Year

Hello To all

Well...My birthday has come and gone. It was a nice one too. I sooo enjoyed it. DH had bought me a NEW computer...love it! DD took me to lunch at my fav restaurant...Lil' Mexico. Yummmmm. I have also rec'vd nice cards and things from friends on CMB. THANKS GALS!!!! You all made my BIRTHDAY soo special.
