Hello to all....

IT's been a busy week for me...not a happy one to start with either. My Uncle, Dad's brother passed away and have spent time with his kids. RIP Uncle Bob...you will be missed.

Friday was my mom's 66th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHER!!!! IT was a wonderful time. My two sisters..Missi and Lori and I took her to a Chinese restaurant and had a party with her...just the girls. Loved it...as it was LOOOOOONG over due. We laughed until we cried...it was a wonderful day!! One I will always remember. Thanks Lori and Missi for the laughs and making Mom's birthday special.

Hello to all you peeps....

Mother's Day has passed yet again. It wasn't the best day for me...it saddened me honestly. DD had to work and I didn't get to see her.  DH took me to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and shopping at Kay's for princess cut diamond solitare earrings...woo hoo...LUV THEM!!!! He is truely a wonderful guy and has come to spoil me quiet often lately. Not complaining one bit.

DD  and Tif did come out yesterday and brought dinner, and a Mother's Day gift....a pink potted Gerber Daisy plant....so pretty...a photo of me and DH ...great pic...and a stone plaque for  MY BELOVED KAHLUA that has passed....they are soooo thought ....beautiful items~ each with a special place and meaning in my life. PERFECT Mom's Day after all.

Hope each Mom out there had a day to remember.

Maggie Criss Cross Card

Hello to all...
I'm sorry to have been missing but I've been doing 10 hr days at work and some weekends. THere is just not enough time for ME. I have been in a  Maggie swap on the Cricut MB and wanted to post my card. The lady that I was to send to asked for ***SURPRISES*** so that is just what I did. I used beautiful TEALS on  Sweet Tilda and loved how it turned out. THe Criss Cross card was much easier to make than it actually looks. You can find the info on how to make it here......
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/criss_cross_card/

It was fun to create...I myself gave it a twist...I placed the opening to the side, not on top. Give it a try and see what you can do to make it your own.

Paper Bag Card

As a Monthly Challenge in our Maggie Swaps on the Cricut Board..We were to make a paper bag card....it's soo easy and cute. I love how mine turned out. As my partner wanted it in soft pastel colors. I do not work with these colors often so it was a great chance to do something different. I so enjoyed coloring the Tildas with my copics....much more practice is needed...but love how they turned out.

I had surgery in DEC and went back to work on FEB 13th...and been stuck on 10 hr days since. I'm hating my job now. DH said it was time I look for something else and I am soo ready for something new.  Hope to post some new creations on here soon.

Altered Tilda Book

Hello and Happy Tuesday...

I altered a Comp book for a Maggie swap on the Cricut Message board. My partner wanted **Shabby Chic** for her theme...and hope this fits the bill! I really like how it turned out. I used everything from my stash but the PINK DAMASK paper. I bought it from M's and it's cream with PINK Flocked damask print. LOVE IT! Then added three touches of diffent shades of lt green to it. Made the charms to divide off her pages. I stamped Shrinky dink paper with the images...colored them and punched a hole...then shrunk them. I added different types of lt pink ribbons thru them. LOVE these too...Sometimes I even surprise myself on ideas ...never know what I may end up with. Most of the time...I just start creating and they come to me out of nowhere...lol. Let me know what you all think of this...love comments!

Calendar pages

In a swap on the YPP ...I had to do Calendar pages for Feb and July. I love the way they turned out and hope that the ladies in my group do as well. I can't wait to see the complete calendar when the hostess returns them to us.

Here is my Feb....I used a paper doily, inked it with TH Dist. Inks in brushed corduroy, walnut, and tattered rose to give them the antique feel. I then aged the calendar the same way and heat set them. I used *George* cricut cart to make Primitive hearts. Then wrapped them in a pink twine., added pearls in brown, pink and cream. Used clear gem flourish to the bottom to give the extra zing it need. LOVE THEM!!!

July I used the *Stand & Salute* cricut cart for the Liberty Bell. Added stars in red/blue and a TH Memo pin to hold the calendar. I like them...but not like the Feb...lol.  Sorry...just realized I didn't take July photos..uggghhhh
Thanks for looking.

Vintage Christmas Calling cards

These are actually called rolodex cards...but they are used for holding info on a rolodex. The theme was Vintage Christmas and I truely enjoyed the way they look. Used a variety of vintaged/aged themed papers and Heartfelt Creations Vintage tags....each different. I then sprayed and crinkled seam binding to give the Christmas feel to the deep green/red colors. Used Whimsy Ticket die and stamps for Christmas to play in the TH Memo pin.....ca-ute....I am happy with my creations.

ENJOY~~~

Christmas Match Box

I love how this turned out. I took a match box purchased with matches from Dollar General. I emptied it out...and then started  to give the box a NEW look. My sis for the swap wanted Deep greens and reds for the theme. Here is my take on her idea. I used Papers from Tim HOltz Seasonal stack....and gave it the VINTAGE vibe. I used a plaid green/cream/red gingham ribbon along with a wider cream crocheted ribbon from my stash. Used cream prima flowers and inked them just a hint to give them color...I then added clear snowflakes and flourishes to give the Wintery affect it needed. ENJOY Cherie!!!

We had to make a dangel...2 flowers and 3 pins to place inside the box. My flowers are PINK...one of her fav colors.

ENJOY~~~

Looks good enough to eat!

I am really impressed with how my GINGERBREAD photo frame turned out. I just know Kathy will love it. She had given me ideas on a photo she had to put into this frame. I painted it a dark chocolate brown to start with...added cuts from a MS deep edge punch for the shingles and then pop-dotted the edge of it out to give the illusion of a ROOF. Added gems for lil' candies on the house. The photo place is the actual WINDOW for the house.  I soo love this!!!!

Altered Christmas Dominos

These are such a joy to make. I love them!!! I used my Tim Holtz alcohol inks in denim and aqua and pearl additive to give the color these have. I then heat set them with my heat gun. Used winter themed stamps I have  along with staz-on black ink and stamped them. Heat set it too....just for luck!  Add a magnetic strip to the back and Voila!!!! you are done. I hope all enjoy them in the CMB Swap.

WInter mini

THIs is the first mini of the sorts I've made....but soo easy and cute!!! Loved it. I found it here http://poppypaperie.typepad.com/poppy_paperie/2010/10/mini-fold-book.html .  She does amazing work....love her  site. Check it out and enjoy.

The mini I did is a Winter Wonderland theme. It's for a CMB swap. I love how lil' they are and how fast they are to make.

FAMILY BLOCKS

I was given some SU wooden stamp blocks with the stamps removed. I had a clever idea to make a **Family** block set for a swap. I hope she enjoys them. I Chose a variety of heights and widths to give interest...and then decided to do a color scheme she liked. ....black/cream/red. I used my Cricut and Don Juan cart to cut the letters. The paper is from M's. I mod podged the paper to the block...sanded the edges and then added the letters. Topped it w/more mod podge and let dry. Finished them off with silver pearls.  What fun project!!!
